Welcoming New Hires With a
Bespoke Experience

Interactive Onboarding

Create a stronger first impression through immersive experiences

Does your organisation have structured onboarding in place for new hires? If you do, does it truly represent your company and its core values? Is it geared towards simply relaying information, or does it inspire employees and help form those all-important early connections?

Remember, you only get one chance to make a first impression and for a hire’s first day on the job, you want them to feel energised, focused and ready to hit the ground running.

Challenger Experiences works with forward-thinking HR teams to rethink their onboarding strategies. We build bespoke experiences that replace orientation slides with narrative, grey-matter-igniting puzzles and team interaction – giving your new employees a first day to remember...

Introduce company culture in a way that sticks

It’s critical for a new employee to understand the values, tone and expectations of your business – but reading a mission statement isn’t the same as feeling what that actually means.

A custom, gamified experience can bring those messages to life; weaving your values into a storyline, shaping challenges around a work culture and giving new hires the chance to experience how your organisation moves and thinks. A practical way to reinforce what matters – and give people a chance to engage early.

Turn inductions into something of value

Our onboarding experiences are designed to embed key information through problem-solving and give new hires a sense of shared achievement. Whether it’s a standalone challenge or a series of experiential touch-points woven throughout the full induction, new hires can work together to immerse themselves into your organisation.

At one of our onboarding projects for EY, 450 graduate interns took part in a bespoke tabletop escape room style challenge designed around the company’s graduate platform. Participants left with a clearer understanding of the platform and business as a whole. The experience scored an average of 9.4/10 – the highest-rated activity of the programme. That experience is now being rolled out across offices throughout Europe.

Meanwhile, we reimagined Dyson’s full induction - turning a passive day-and-a-half programme into an experience new hires will remember for years. Traditional product demos became hands-on, puzzle-led challenges powered by Dyson tech and the campus tour transformed into an immersive treasure hunt. Every activity was designed to spotlight and reinforce key messages in a way that felt active, purposeful and genuinely engaging. Participants racked up points throughout, building to a final crescendo where they earned their company lanyards.

“It was unbelievable seeing the level of excitement and enthusiasm shown from the participants in the final activity of the day, the level of detail of building our story into the activity was truly remarkable.”

Replace static sessions with lasting memories

Onboarding shouldn’t feel like reading a list of rules or completing a compliance task. When the process starts with an immersive experience, people remember what they learned – and how they felt doing it. That emotional anchor helps retention, improves morale and makes your team feel valued from the get-go.

Our experiential onboarding also scales easily. We can design table-top puzzle games for small in-office teams or full-room builds for international campuses. Each version is built from the ground up – shaped by your goals, message and brand.
